Ivan Zipancic graduated as molecular biologist at the University of Perugia, Italy. Part of his training was done at the Laboratory of Molecular biology of the Institute of Internal and Vascular Medicine of the University of Perugia (2003-2004), and at the Medical Genetics Laboratory of the Hospital “Ospedali Riuniti” in Foggia (2004). In 2011 he obtained PhD, entitled “Evaluation of therapeutic potential of the stem cell transplantation against epilepsy” as a Fellow of the National Funds for Scientific Research of Valencian Community (FPI). Part of his PhD was done at the Department of Physiology, Federal University of São Paulo (Brazil). Since 2012 he has been a full time professor of Physiology at the Biomedical Department of the Univeristy of Cardenal Herrera – CEU, Valencia, Spain. His scientific work has been focused on neuroprotection and neurorepair strategies in the central nervous system and more recently also on aspects related to effect of mycotoxins on adult neurogenesis. These research lines have results so far to numerous peer-reviewed full international papers.
