Juan Miguel Martínez López (1981), teacher at CEU since 2021, is architect by the Valencian School of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of València, Spain (january 2007). Since 2009 starts his professional career together with María Dolores Contell forming the studio CONTELL-MARTÍNEZ ARCHITECTS, after collaborating in different architecture studios since 2002. Much of his professional work is based on the development of public architecture, convinced of its need and social function. Several of his projects consist on building on the built looking for new dialoques that could radically transform and improve the reality as we know it. His works have been selected, among others, in the Spanish Architecture Price promoted by the Council of the Colleges of Architects of Spain –CSCAE- (2022), in the 62nd edition of the FAD Architecture and Urbanism Awards (2020), in the VIII edition of the Enor Architecture Awards (2020), at the XIV Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (2018), in the VI edition of the Arquia Próxima Prize (2018), in the III Hyspalit Architecture Prize (2018), they have been shown in numerous exhibitions or lectures and have been published in different national and international media, such as C3 (South Korea), L’Industria delle Costruzioni (Italy), Area Magazine (Italy), Arhitext (Romania), On Diseño (Spain), TC Cuadernos (Spain) or Conarquitectura (Spain).
